Sixteen different organisations, from community groups to charities, have benefited from BEAR’s benevolence during April, May and June.
Charity boosts
BEAR has adopted various approaches to boosting charity funds. The company’s annual staff five aside football tournament saw an impressive £2,224 raised for SAMH.
Meanwhile BEAR supported the daughter of its former managing director, Bill Taylor, in her marathon challenge in his memory, donating £1,500 to Pancreatic Cancer Action.
Additionally, £500 was donated to the road safety charity, Brake, to support its ongoing campaigns.
Two charities benefitted from the company’s dedicated regional charity initiative. Trossachs Search and Rescue and Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre each received £750 donations after being nominated by BEAR team members.
Five charities were granted £250 donations through nominations and challenges from BEAR employees. Including Cancer Research, Help for Heroes, Macmillan, The Yard and Blairgowrie Stroke club.
Community involvement
As well as supporting charities, BEAR Scotland offers support to community organisations in the areas where it operates.
This quarter has seen BEAR staff collect and donate over 100 Easter eggs to local food banks and provide in-kind support for the Kirkliston and Dalgety Bay Gala Days.
Additionally, BEAR donated £100 Amazon gift vouchers as raffle prizes at the Fife Volunteer Awards and at the Institute of Asphalt Technology Scottish Branch Dinner.
