· Carriageway improvement works to start on 4 February 2026
· Nighttime lane closure with convoy
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential resurfacing improvements on the A9, from Tomich Junction to Delny Muir Junction from 4 February 2026.
As of Wednesday 11 March, these nighttime improvements have been pause due to poor weather forecasted over the next week or so. Weather permitting, these works will re-commence for one night from 20:00 on 30 March 2026, completing at 06:00 on Tuesday 31 March 2026.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, nighttime lane closures with a convoy system will be in place. Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This crucial surfacing project on the A9 at Tomich to Delny will fix existing defects and significantly improve the experience for all road users.
“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
