A9 ROAD MARKING IMPROVEMENTS ON LONGMAN ROUNDABOUT

June 18, 2025

  • Road marking works begin Monday 23 June for six nights

  • Lane closure with convoy between 7pm and 6am

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, plan to undertake essential road marking improvements on the A9 Longman Roundabout on Monday 23 June for six nights.

The work will remove and replace all white lines on the approach to Longman Roundabout and on the Roundabout, improving visibility and ensuring a safer journey for road users.

All improvements will take place from 7pm on Monday 23 June until 6am on Tuesday 1 July. There will be no works on Saturday and Sunday nights.

To protect road workers and road users, lane closures and temporary traffic lights with a convoy system to lead traffic safely through the work site will be in place during working hours. The road will be open as usual outwith working hours.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has taken place with stakeholders to make them aware of traffic management arrangements.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These road marking and road stud refresh works on the A9 will greatly improve visibility and safety for road users. We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete the works.

“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
