BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential maintenance works to replace lighting columns on the A9 Kessock Bridge.
These street lighting works will be carried out between the hours of 7:30pm and 4.30am, and are expected to be completed by the morning of Friday 27 February.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, traffic management will be required to close both a northbound and southbound lane during the works. There will also be a 30mph speed restriction in place. Traffic management will be removed during the day and footways will remain open throughout the works.
Street lighting on the bridge may be reduced at times while the lighting columns are being replaced.
All works are dependent on suitable weather and what the team find once they begin as some details can only be fully understood once works commence. As such, the programme of works is subject to change in the event of adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Richard Cook, BEAR Scotland’s North West Bridges Manager said: “These essential maintenance works have been planned to minimise disruption as far as possible. We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our team carries out these essential works.”
