  • Commencing 4 September for two weeks

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s trunk road operating company, is set to start drainage improvement works, enhancing the A9 just south of Pitlochry. This project will span two weeks from Monday 4 September and will be carried out from 9.30am to 4pm

The project’s focus is the repair of drainage assets located alongside the A9 trunk road, at the base of the road embankment. These repairs are critical to prevent flooding, maintain the structural integrity of the road embankment and ensure the safety of A9 users.

Due to the location’s traffic volume and the nature of the works, temporary lane closures will be in place for the safety of both the workforce and the public. Starting Monday 4 September, the northbound nearside lane  will be closed until Wednesday 13 September after which the southbound nearside lane will be closed for the remainder of the project until Friday 15 September. Please note there will be no work carried out over the weekends.

Iain Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “We appreciate the understanding and patience of all motorists during this period. We recommend planning your journeys in advance and visiting the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
