• Essential bridge maintenance continues throughout June and July

• Traffic lights in place during working hours

• 10mph convoy system in operation from Wednesday 10 to the morning of Saturday 13 June

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, has confirmed a further programme of overnight traffic restrictions on the A9 Cromarty Bridge near Dingwall, continuing through June and into July.

Specialist underbridge access vehicles are being used to upgrade the existing cathodic protection system, which helps prevent corrosion.

These complex overnight bridge works will take place between the hours of 7pm and 6am on the following dates, subject to change:

• Monday 8 June to the morning of Wednesday 10 June
• Wednesday 10 June to the morning of Saturday 13 June
• Monday 15 June to the morning of Monday 22 June
• Monday 6 July to the morning of Thursday 9 July

To protect the workforce and members of the travelling public, traffic lights will be in place for all works. Additionally, between Wednesday 10 June and the morning of Saturday 13 June, a 10mph convoy will be in operation to safely escort vehicles through the site whilst joint replacement works are carried out. These traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours.

Richard Cook, BEAR Scotland’s North West Bridge Manager, said, “Building on previous works at Cromarty Bridge, our teams are now completing works on the cathodic protection system, which helps prevent corrosion of the steel reinforcement in the concrete bridge.

“Tackling these now will help ensure the long-term resilience and safety of the structure, reducing the need for future interventions.

“We’re grateful to road users and the local community for their continued patience while we complete these works.”
