Traffic on the A83 Rest and Be Thankful will continue using the Old Military Road until conditions on the hillside can be fully inspected following heavy rainfall over the weekend.
The short local diversion has been in use from 1pm on Saturday 13 December as a precaution.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “The safety of road users remains our top priority. Geotechnical engineers are on site today carrying out detailed inspections of the hillside following the recent heavy rainfall.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience while these essential checks are completed. Using the short local diversion along the Old Military Road ensures journeys on the A83 corridor can continue safely with minimal disruption, keeping Argyll open for business.”
Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland A83 Rest and Be Thankful and X @trafficscotland. Ferry options are also available, check www.western-ferries.co.uk.
