A83 AT REST AND BE THANKFUL – OLD MILITARY ROAD LOCAL DIVERSION ROUTE TO BE USED

  • Current forecast for Sunday and Monday indicates around 90mm of rainfall in 48 hours which will result in a significant increase in hillside saturation levels.
  • As a precaution, the Old Military Road Local Diversion Route will be in use from 12:00 mid-day on Sunday 4 February.
  • The Old Military Road Diversion Route will likely be in place until the morning of Tuesday 6 February, weather dependant.

The current weather forecast for Sunday and Monday indicates 90mm of rainfall in 48 hours which will result in a significant increase in hillside saturation levels. In line with the Rest and be Thankful Management Plan, and as a precaution, the Old Military Road Local Diversion Route will be in use from 12:00 Mid-day on Sunday 4 February. This will be subject to further review of forecast and conditions on Monday morning although is likely to continue through to Tuesday morning and will be reviewed thereafter.
