Given the current heavy and persistent rain forecast for Friday and Saturday, motorists using the A83 Rest and Be Thankful will be diverted onto the Old Military Road Local Diversion Route from 7pm on Friday 6 October. The OMR is expected to continue to be used over the weekend.
Subject to the outcome of hillside inspections and ongoing review of forecasts and hillside saturation, it is anticipated that traffic will return to the A83 Rest and Be Thankful during the day on Sunday 8 October.
Our team continues to have a presence on site and are monitoring conditions closely. A further update will be issued if there is any change to the above traffic management arrangement.
