Works start on Monday 19 October for four nights

  • Overnight road closures in place for safety, 7pm and 7am

Motorists using the A82 in Inverness are to benefit from an improved road surface as £80,000 worth of resurfacing improvements are set to get underway next week.

The project will see improvements to the A82 Telford Street Roundabout, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists

The overnight project is scheduled to begin on Monday 19 October and will take four nights to complete. The improvements will take place between 7pm and 7am each night with work due to be completed by 7am on Friday 23 October.

To keep roadworkers as well as road users safe during the project, a full road closure will be in place on the roundabout during working hours. Signed local diversions will be in place during the project. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours, however a 30mph speed limit will be in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “This £80,000 essential surfacing improvement project on the A82 Telford Street Roundabout will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.

“The overnight closures are essential for ensuring the safety of roadworkers and motorists, however we’ve taken steps to limit the overall impact of the project by carrying out the work overnight.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
