BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is carrying out road marking works following the resurfacing of the A9 dual carriageway at the north end of Luncarty.
These works are planned to take two nights to complete, starting on Tuesday 3 November at 7pm, until Thursday 5 November at 6am, subject to weather conditions.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and road users, these works will be carried out under temporary traffic lights with a convoy system in operation on the southbound dual carriageway. The southbound on-slip road will also be closed with a signed diversion in place while the works are being carried out.
A diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be signposted from Luncarty via the B8063 and A9, adding an estimated 4.5 miles and 6 minutes to journey times.
The road will be open as normal during the day, however, speed restrictions will be left in place as there will be no road markings.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the road lining works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Design Manager said “These road marking works are the final stage of the resurfacing project at the north end of Luncarty and will help ensure the route continues to provide a safer journey for road users.
“We’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption as much as possible, and we thank motorists in advance for their patience while this essential work is completed.”
