A985 ROSYTH IRONWORK REPLACEMENT

October 30, 2026

  • Overnight road closures, 2 to 4 November 2026

The A985 in Rosyth will be closed for ironwork replacement works between Kings Road Roundabout and Crossroads Roundabout from 18:00 until 06:00 on the nights of Monday 2, Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November.

Work on site is expected to finish by 23:00 each night, however the road will remain closed for several hours afterwards to allow materials to cool.

During these closures, a diversion route for traffic in both directions will be in place via the M90 from Junction 1C Admiralty, the A823(M) and the B980 Kings Road. This will add approximately 2.5 miles and 4 minutes to journeys.

The work is being carried out in preparation for overnight resurfacing works due to commence the following week. Full details of this project can be viewed at www.bearscot.com/rosyth.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We appreciate that these works will be disruptive, however we’ll do what we can to mitigate the impact on local residents, including completing the noisiest operations by 11pm each night.

“We thank road users and the local community for their patience while these essential improvements are completed.”

All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.

Real-time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland at www.traffic.gov.scot, or on X at @trafficscotland.
