UPDATE: A85 NEAR FALLS OF CRUACHAN, LOCH AWE REOPENS

December 20, 2022

  • Road is now open under traffic signal control

Following a landslide yesterday afternoon, one lane of the A85 road 1km south east of Falls of Cruachan is now open under traffic signal control.

BEAR Scotland, with Network Rail, worked hard to tackle the challenging conditions, assess the situation and clear debris, to reopen the road safely. We continue to work towards reopening both lanes and are working with rail colleagues to assist their efforts in re-establishing the rail link.

The landslide saw 100 Tonnes of debris close the A85 road and rail connection in both directions yesterday afternoon and throughout most of the day on Tuesday.
