February 15, 2024

Final night of works Monday 8 April 7pm

Road closure with amnesties

On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland is carrying out essential surfacing improvements on the A82 from Ballachulish to Onich, North of Ballachulish Bridge. The roadworks will be lifted ahead of the Easter weekend to help provide easier journeys for road users. The works will restart after the holiday, with one final night scheduled for Monday 8 April.

For the safety of roadworkers and road users, the A82 will be closed from Ballachulish to Onich on Monday 8 April between 7pm and 6am with amnesties at 8pm, 9-9:30pm, 10:30pm, 11:30pm, 1am and 3am.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the surfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A82 North of Ballachulish Bridge will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users. The decision to lift the roadworks for Easter reflects our commitment to facilitating smoother journeys during this busy holiday period.

“The final overnight closure is essential to ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists.

“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project. Over the Easter weekend, we encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.traffic.gov.scot or X at @trafficscotland.

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
