ADDITIONAL OVERNIGHT CLOSURES REQUIRED TO COMPLETE SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS ON THE A90 PETERHEAD

Please be advised that due to operational reasons, additional overnight road closures are required for the ongoing resurfacing works on the A90 at Peterhead.

The project was due to be completed by 5am on Tuesday 5 July; however, additional overnight road closures will begin tonight (Tuesday 5 July) and are expected to take five nights to complete. The works will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night. No works will take place over the weekend; the A90 will be open from Thursday morning and will reclose on Monday night to complete works. All works expected to be complete by 6.30am on Thursday 14 July, subject to weather conditions

Traffic management will remain as originally programmed; to ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorist, A90 will be closed between Howe o’Buchan Roundabout to Waterside Junction. Motorists will be diverted from the A90 onto the A950, then along to Windmill Road, the A982 North Road, then back on to the A90. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Emergency services will be able to pass through the works at all times.  Local access for residents, businesses and scheduled bus services will be maintained when it is safe to pass through the work area.

All relevant stakeholders have been informed of the changes.
