BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out surfacing works on the A835 West of Tarvie, by Loch Garve.
The project will see a new surface laid on a section of the A835, creating a smoother and safer road for motorists. The improvements will also make the road more durable and resilient against inclement weather and enhance road markings.
Works will be carried out between 7pm and 6am each working night from Monday 2 June until 6am on Tuesday 10 June. No works will be carried out on Friday and Saturday nights.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and the public, the road will be closed during working hours with amnesties offered at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am to allow waiting traffic to pass through the work site safely.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A835 near Tarvie will help address existing defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.”
“The overnight closures are essential to ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists.”
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project and encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.traffic.gov.scot, X at @trafficscotland or the new mobile site my.trafficscotland.org.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
