RESURFACING WORKS AT A82 NEAR CLACHAIG INN

Update on 26 November 2025: Due to delays elsewhere in the programme, works on the A82 near Clachaig Inn have been postponed by one night and will now start on Wednesday 3 December. New information below.

  • Overnight resurfacing works start on Wednesday 3 December

  • Closure with hourly amnesties in place until Tuesday 9 December

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out resurfacing works on the A82 near Clachaig Inn at Loch Achtriochtan from Wednesday 3 December. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am, with works expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday 9 December. No works will be carried out on Friday or Saturday nights.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, this section of the road will be closed in both directions during working hours. Amnesties will be offered at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am, and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted safely through the site.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of  the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This resurfacing works on the A82 at Loch Achtriochtan will fix existing defects in the road surface and improve road markings, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.
