£165,000 SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS, A95 DALVEY

Works start Wednesday 11 August for six days

A section of the A95 south of Dalvey is to benefit from major surfacing improvements worth £165,000 with work set to get underway next week.

The improvements will address defects in the road surface on the A95, between Cromdale and Tormore creating a safer and smoother road surface for motorists.

The project is scheduled to be begin on Wednesday 11 August and will take place over six days between 8am and 5pm each day, with all work expected to be completed by Wednesday 18 August, subject to weather to conditions. No works are programmed to take place on Saturday or Sunday.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, a 10mph convoy system will be in place for safety during working hours. All traffic management will be removed overnight.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “This £165,000 investment from Transport Scotland will greatly improve and strengthen this section of the A95, as well as create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

“The traffic management programmed is essential for ensuring everyone remains safe throughout the project, however our teams will do everything possible to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements on the A95. We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
