September 9, 2021

Works start Monday 13 September for five days

A section of the A95 south of Dalvey is to benefit from surfacing improvements worth £165,000 with work set to get underway next week.

The improvements will address defects in the road surface on the A95, between Cromdale and Tormore creating a safer and smoother road surface for motorists. The project had originally been programmed to take place last month but was postponed due to operational issues.

The project is now scheduled to be begin on Monday 13 September and will take place over five days between 9am and 6pm each day, with all work expected to be completed by Friday 17 September, subject to weather to conditions.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, a 10mph convoy system will be in place for safety during working hours. The convoy system will be removed outwith working hours however due to the nature of the works, one lane of the A95 will remain closed and temporary traffic lights will remain in place for safety.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the surfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “We’re pleased to see this surfacing improvement project on the A95 get underway after being postponed last month.

We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
