Works start Monday 10 January for three weeks

Essential maintenance is planned for the M90 Junction 4 Cocklaw Overbridge and Keltyhill Footbridge, located just outside of Kelty with works set to get underway from Monday 10 January.

The £125,000 investment from Transport Scotland will involve teams removing the existing road safety barriers within the M90 verges and replacing them with an upgraded system, ensuring the integrity of the network remains at the highest of standards.

The essential maintenance is scheduled to start on Monday 10 January and will take place over three weeks. The upgrades will be carried out between 7am and 5pm each day, with all works expected to be completed by 5pm on Friday 28 January, subject to weather conditions. No works are programmed to take place at the weekends.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, single lane closures will be in place on both the northbound and southbound carriageway. The lane closures will remain in place 24/7 due to the nature of the works.

Commenting on the works, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative said: “This maintenance on the network will help ensure the M90 Junction 4 Cocklaw Overbridge and Keltyhill Footbridge continue to function safely for road users.

“The traffic management is essential to keep the workforce and road users safe during this project as our teams will be working in the verges, however we will do all we can to complete the project as quickly and as safely as possible.

“We encourage road users to plan their journey in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
