BEAR Scotland is looking for an Inspection Team Leader (Asset Data Specialist) based in Perth to join our North West Network Asset team.

 

The successful applicants will manage a team of Inspectors to ensure they complete the Inspections to the Network Management Contract requirements stated in the Trunk Road Information Manual.

 

Duties of the role include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of BEAR’s Integrated Management Systems.
  • Managing the daily activities of the Inspectors and the operation in the Transport Scotland Asset Management Performance System.
  • Ensuring that inspections are carried out on time and in accordance with the inspection programme and the trunk road information manual.
  • Reviewing the collected inspection data for accuracy completeness and compliance.
  • Reporting and liaising with the Transport Scotland Asset Management Performance System team to resolve problems and issues.
  • Assisting with responses to Hazard Notices and Observations Resulting from Inspections.

 

A full approved driving license is essential for this role.

Additional skills, knowledge and experience required for this role include:

  • Experience and working knowledge of inspection procedures.
  • Experience and working knowledge of data capture hardware and software currently in use within the road’s maintenance environment.
  • Experience and working knowledge of the Routine Management and Maintenance Systems.
  • Ability to comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Review of Data.
  • Flexible attitude to working practices.
  • Capable of self management and self motivation.
  • Ability to cope with change.
