We are looking for an enthusiastic, career focused candidate to join our team as a Trainee Bridge Inspector.
The Trainee Bridge Inspector shall carry out inspections of bridges, while under supervision from the Bridge Inspection Manager. Formal training and on the job training will be provided. The candidate will be given the opportunity to work towards professional qualification under the Lantra, Bridge Inspection Competency Scheme.
No experience is required, however, the ideal candidate will be good at working within a team, capable of report writing and diligent. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of health and safety procedures and hold a current full UK driving license. Experience in working within civil engineering or working towards HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent is desirable.
The South East Unit includes 870 bridges and structures including the iconic Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge, as well as other major bridges such as the Kincardine Bridge and Clackmannanshire Bridge. Trunk roads in the South East serve as a vital link for Scotland’s economy, ensuring thousands of daily journeys and deliveries are carried out safely.
