An integral part of our new 8-12 year contract to manage all trunk roads and structures in the South East of Scotland is the iconic Forth Road Bridge and the Queensferry Crossing.

As part of the management of these structures we have maintenance teams working 24/7 to ensure that the bridges are maintained to the appropriate standards.

We are now looking to enhance our existing team. We have a number of opportunities throughout our teams.   Whether you have extensive experience and are ready-made for the role, or you have some experience and you are looking for the opportunity to develop we want to hear from you.

The Rigger will carry out cyclic maintenance, access installation/operation as part of a comprehensive maintenance team. The role is of a craft nature and as such the post holder should be time served or appropriately qualified tradesperson from an engineering discipline.


Responsibilities and Activities (not limited to):

  • Carry out cyclic maintenance tasks within own team.
  • Carry out installation of bridge access systems – cradles, underdeck platforms.
  • Operation of underdeck access gantries.
  • Rescue Team participation.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety legislation.
  • Assist other trades as required.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Current experience/qualification in a relevant discipline, typically SVQ 3 as a minimum.
  • Must be able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to work as part of composite team as required,
  • Work at height.
  • Confined Space
  • A full approved UK driving licence.
