About BEAR Scotland:

BEAR Scotland currently manages, maintains and improves 2,541km of Scottish trunk roads including bridges and structures through some of the most scenic, but challenging, parts of the country. That means delivering over £185 million investment on road maintenance and improvement annually. BEAR Scotland has just retained the Transport Scotland contract to manage and maintain trunk roads in the North West of Scotland for at least the next eight years.

BEAR Scotland is an alliance of three organisations who are prominent in the United Kingdom roads sector – Vinci/Eurovia, Jacobs and Breedon – joining together to provide trunk road network management and maintenance solutions to Transport Scotland.  Collectively these organisations span the world, allowing us to call on the global strength and expertise of our shareholders where required.

You will also help drive the organisation’s community benefits programme.

This is a senior role that brings together strategic corporate communications with the delivery requirements of a customer-focused organisation including a community benefits programme.

This opportunity offers variety and the chance to play a leading role at a pivotal time for BEAR Scotland as it rolls out the new trunk road contract on behalf of our client, Transport Scotland. It’s a contract that puts communication and engagement with all those who use, live near and have an interest in NW Scotland’s strategic routes, at its core.

  • Responsible for wider team – including Media and Information Officer, Correspondence Officer, Customer & Community Relations Officer.
  • Ongoing monitoring, reporting and evaluation to drive continual improvement

Here’s what you need:

  • A communications, media, digital marketing or marketing degree degree or appropriate professional qualification from a recognised body
