A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join BEAR Scotlands SE Bridges team as a Maintenance Supervisor.

The South East Unit includes 870 bridges and structures including the iconic Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge, as well as other major bridges such as the Kincardine Bridge and Clackmannanshire Bridge.  Trunk roads in the South East serve as a vital link for Scotland’s economy, ensuring thousands of daily journeys and deliveries are carried out safely.

The BMO, reporting into the maintenance manager, Will carry out cyclic maintenance routines on Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing. Assist trade teams with daily tasks such as access installation, bridge repair and maintenance tasks. Driving duties will include drop off /collection of materials to suppliers as required.

Role includes:

  • Carrying out bridge cyclic routines.
  • Assisting trades as required.
  • Driving duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Current experience/qualification in a relevant discipline, typically SVQ 3 as a minimum.
  • Must be able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to work as part of composite team as required,
  • Work at height.
  • Confined Space
  • A full approved UK driving licence
  • Experience of power tools – grinders, drills etc.
  • Telehandler
  • HIAB
  • Abrasive Wheels
