January 7, 2022

Project to begin on Monday 10 January for three weeks

Essential repairs to a retaining wall on the A95 in Aberlour are scheduled to begin on Monday 10 January for three weeks.

The project will involve teams rebuilding the existing retaining wall adjacent to the Aberlour Distillery entrance as well as installing a new pedestrian guardrail, ensuring this section of the network continues to operate safely.

The essential repairs are scheduled to begin on Monday 10 January and will take place over three weeks. Works will take place between 8am and 5pm each day with no works programmed for the weekends.

The majority of the works will take place off the main carriageway however, to ensure the safety of workforce and motorists, temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A95. A safe passage for pedestrians will be provided within the traffic management. All traffic management will remain in place continuously due to the nature of the works.

Commenting on the works, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative said: “This investment from Transport Scotland will allow our teams to repair the existing retaining wall near Aberlour Distillery, ensuring that this section of the A95 continues to operate safely for all motorists.

“The traffic management is essential to keep everyone safe during this project however our teams will do all they can to complete the essential maintenance as quickly and safely as they can and reduce disruption as much as possible.

“We encourage all road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website before they travel and allowing some extra time to reach their destination.”
